The three layers behind a “local” company
Rolled-up brands are owned through a stack. Read it top-down and the pricing playbook starts to make sense.
Layer 1: The control sponsor
A private equity fund sits at the top. Returns flow here, and so does the decision to resell the whole portfolio to the next fund.
Layer 2: The operating platform
A holding company runs pricing, procurement, and acquisitions for dozens of brands at once. Its name isn’t painted on anything.
Layer 3: The name on the truck
The local brand keeps its logo, reviews, and phone number after the sale, so you can’t spot new ownership from the curb.

Methodology & limitations
A public-information map, not a legal register: entries reflect platform directories, portfolio pages, and first-party announcements as of the research date. Roll-ups often buy without a press release, so public counts lag reality.
One caveat on franchises: a franchise location is typically an independently owned business paying royalties, a different structure from a fund-owned shop. Each record says which is which. Every ownership statement here either links a public source or carries a label: unconfirmed where the public record disagrees, platform-reported where the only documentation is the platform’s own brand directory. Brand counts are the platforms’ published figures, not our count. Records are re-checked on each update. We make no claims about any listed company’s pricing, workmanship, or customer service.
